This was the only Government owned pig nucleus breeding farm in Sri Lanka, and maintained pure lines of Land Race, Large White and Duroc breeds. The breeding materials are supplied to the registered multiplier and commercial pig farmers from this nucleus breeding farm. In 2016, this farm was transferred to Martin farm and converted as the Milk Distribution and Processing Unit of NLDB.
